NO BOUNDARIES “Bucky”
2001 16.2h Bay Trakehner/Thoroughbred Gelding (Not Surprised x Natalie)
Owned by Erin Sylvester and Jill and Henry Tallman
Bucky was purchased in the fall of 2007 from Chris Price through Jennifer Berryman, who owns the facility in Aiken where ES Eventing relocates for the winter eventing season. Erin brought Bucky up through the levels throughout his entire eventing career. Bucky was not very consistent at the lower levels as he had a bit of a wild side, but settled very well into his career as an upper level event horse and embraced the demands of this career. At their debut at Rolex in 2012, Bucky and Erin impressed the world with their 13th place finish and then continued on to compete at the famed Burghley Horse Trials in Europe that same year. They continued their success during the 2013 season with a 3rd place finish in the Plantation Field International CCI4*-S and a top 20 finish in the Fair Hill International CCI4*-L.
2014 saw continued improvement in the dressage and show jumping, and as always Bucky proved his determination and speed on the cross-country. In the spring they had several strong finishes at the Advanced level and earned 9th place in The Fork CCI4*-S. They placed 2nd at the Jersey Fresh CCI4*-S, 4th in the Bromont CCI4*-L, 2nd in the Richland Park Advanced and 7th at the Plantation Field International CCI4*-S, before capping off an incredible season with a 6th place finish in the Les Etoiles de Pau CCI5*-L, and were consequently named USEA Horse of the Year!
In 2015 Erin and No Boundaries started the season with an 8th place finish at the Fork CCI4*-S in preparation for Rolex, where they completed in 28th place after jumping clear on a cross-country course that caught out many other experienced pairs. Erin retired No Boundaries at the end of the 2015 season after an incredibly successful career.
